This post sticks out to me distinctly: [Life is Short](http://www.paulgraham.com/vb.html http://www.paulgraham.com/vb.html) I re-read it every few months. Helps me to spend more time with my kid. Aside, there are quite a few benefits and lots of distractions. But, it really depends on the day's schedule. I've noticed I don't visit HN for a few days when I'm in the flow of working on something exciting.
