I think the planet would thank us for using far less power overall, rather than continuing to be profligate with cleaner power. That said I'd need to read the paper properly to understand it - I don't think this article explains the key points very well. Interested to know if this applies to offshore wind? Here in the UK we are a great candidate for this and whilst the US isn't quite so fortunate, it still has a fair amount of coastline!
