  In general, your new corporate overlords usually spend the first fiscal year trying to figure out what to do with you. So wait for the first full fiscal year after the deal closes, or the second if its late enough in the year. Then you will hear logic like, “We’re not going to tell you what to make, but we won’t pay for that,” as if that’s different or even better than just setting the agenda.
