The media tends to focus on the most extreme misconduct resulting in death, but grossly unprofessional behavior, excessive force, etc. are far more common and attract far less attention. I was shocked at how many people are charged with resisting arrest or assault on an officer. Are that many people really resisting and assaulting the officers? Maybe, maybe not.
