arguments should be fought with better arguments.
- rtpg 8y ago"Oh man people are really mad at this person, therefore _the person must be right_" You think that better arguments are going to convince people with this kind of reasoning? Loads of people all over the place are just wrong. It happens all the time. And there isn't a moral obligation to respond to some wrong opinion over and over again. People who think we need to have rational debates with flat earthers are not people who will be convinced by much. They are the 20% of people who think Bigfoot are real.

- scrollaway 8y agoI can't come up with counter arguments to your post that you would not dismiss. That doesn't mean you're right, it means I'm bad at coming up with high quality counter arguments.
- prablenha 8y agoOkay, don't worry then. I'm sure some people will come around with high quality counter arguments.
- scrollaway 8y agoIt won't help if you ignore their existence, just like you're ignoring the existence of counter-arguments to this guy's talk, many in this very thread.
- TeMPOraL 8y agoShould be, but sadly, they aren't. I suspect the suspension is a desperate attempt at trying to contain PR damage to the organization.
- truculent 8y ago> arguments should be fought with better arguments I find it surprising that you can follow up a comment that has no substance beyond invoking a vague emotional response with this. If you think arguments are the way for constructive discourse, perhaps you ought to present some arguments yourself.
- Confusion 8y agoYou are assuming this was 'reasoned talk'.
