Game Engine Architecture by Jason Gregory
It's like a collection of all the game programming stuff they didn't teach me at school, nor at my non-game jobs. Whether you're writing an engine or just using one, I consider this book absolutely vital.
- shijie 8y agoIt looks like there are several versions of this book. Would you recommend the 3rd edition of this book, or could I get away with an older one and buy it used?
- tdsamardzhiev 8y agoThe new content is very good, but if the price is too high for you, there's nothing wrong with getting the older editions.
- xx3000 8y agoI would also add Real-Time Rendering[2] and Real-Time Collision Detection[3] to the list of absolutely essential game development books.
