The False Musk-Jobs Parallel
- lihaciudaniel 8y agoI don't understand the need for this comparasion. One died as a symbol and hero and has unimaginable legacy and the other is just , yes amazing , but a tech CEO like always.
- noddy1 8y agoBefore anyone tries to give advice to elon musk or criticizes his path, they should ask themselves "Have I made a major contribution towards the biggest problem facing the planet?". If the answer is no, then they should shut the hell up.
- tomhoward 8y agoI can agree with you that a lot of people criticise "tall poppies" as a distraction from their own weaknesses, and that this applies to Elon Musk critics more than most. But people are well entitled to point out mistakes and ethical/legal breaches by elites, and indeed it's important that it be done so in order that elites be kept from completely reckless or stupid behaviour (I refer you to the story of The Emperor's New Clothes as a long-understood demonstration of this concept). People still need to be kept accountable to laws and societally accepted standards of behaviour, no matter how much they claim to be doing to save the world, else anyone will be able to come up with their own justification for acting illegally and unethically.
