Updated tweets indicate it deletes the cookies then immediately creates new ones? This is probably related to that login-state sync between the browser and Google account previously discussed; it'd be really weird to me if deleting my cookies logged me out of my browser account, but that means it's also really weird if it logs me out of Gmail if I'm still in my Google account in the browser itself.
