I see nothing here that suggests the link is causative. It could very well be that the toll of being an addict compromises the immune system leading to conditions that most people never get.
- asimpletune 8y agoI think they would have to have a separate, additional experiment to rule out a causal relation.
- jostmey 8y agoIt's not hard to test this hypothesis. All they have to do is look if the elderly show the same pattern as addicts. If they do, it suggest that a weakened immune system leaves the body vulnerable.
