Coincidentaly I switched from Google services a week before this Chrome fiasco. I am happy with the switch for services, but was hard to accept laggy firefox ui on mac or safari without some plugins. This made it 100% easier.

> laggy firefox ui on mac Really? I've been using it for years and I haven't felt a problem. But this could be a bug, and it'd be a good idea to report it.

It's really weird, it happens on my "new" 2016 MBP and a work machine. But I can't tell why I'm getting slowdowns.

Closing or moving tabs is sometimes laggy

Are you against using Safari? It really is great on Mac.

yup. content blocking model is superior, third party cookie handling is superior (and leading the charge), sharing of tabs between devices is superior, reading list is awesome, yada yada. personally i’m still on chrome. i stay signed in all the time anyway. not deleting google cookies is a feature from my POV. when google throws up an anti ad blocker, that’s when i’ll defect.
