So for the past two weeks, there have been "hotel workers on strike!" protests in Chicago. They've been outside banging pots and pans, blowing whistles, and generally making a lot of noise to raise awareness for their cause. Are you sure that quietly switching to Firefox is more effective than saying "Fuck you Google, I took your product and made it my own. Here's how anyone else can do the same thing. Stop abusing your users' trust"?

Standing up to Google by using Chromium is akin to standing up to Ford by buying an F-150 and removing the blue Ford nameplate. Google's investment in Chrome exists to give them leverage over the web platform, which is opposed by the marketshare of all non-Chrome-compatible browsers, which is not increased by using Chromium. To reiterate, there are plenty of good reasons to use Chromium or forks thereof, but that only continues to further, not oppose, Google's stranglehold on the web.
