In some countries you can live for almost a year on 10k, so that means having all that time to build whatever you want on your own time. That's way more than enough to make a product on free tools, and get enough customers to get the ball rolling!

If you're in your parent's garage, you might want to experiment with AWS (but for a strictly limited amount of spend and time) - just to get a feel for what it's like to scale. It's a common mistake to build a bare bones solution, and never have to worry about scaling.
