Well.. it's really, really hard, and incredibly rewarding once you start to get decent at it. It takes a long time to get any good. There is a lot to learn - about knowing when and where to try to surf, about reading the waves, about the etiquette and proper behaviour, and about yourself. It is physically and mentally demanding. I highly recommend it.
