Without some pretty drastic changes, I don't think I'm ever going to feel confident that a computer with a Qualcomm or Broadcom SoC can be made secure. These two companies are basically the worst at making their documentation / datasheets / code available for inspection. The article suggests that the boot process has been simplified, but as an outsider it still looks astoundingly complex, and the "random oem additions that are likely to be insecure" part is absolutely terrifying. Am I wrong?
