I'm not on the team nor did I downvote you but I can understand why others did. Why are you complaining about "thinly recessed semi-transparent ovaloids"? Is that just another way of saying you don't like the rounded buttons? Why put it that way? It's pretty intuitive to see which is a search area (obvious magnifying glass icon) and which are navigation buttons. Saying that it's a "terrible terrible" interface because of that is a bit excessive. Thanks for trying to give feedback to them but try not to be so mean and make accusations like them conspiring to downvote you.
