Those are different though: Desert Bus is an intentionally boring game about a boring activity, while Papers, Please is a tense, exciting game about a boring activity (or certainly one typically seen as boring). Then there are the for-srs bus, truck and train simulators, which clearly don't set out to be a non-stop thrill ride but don't seek to be actively boring either. Aaand then of course there are the many games which are supposed to be about thrill-rides of fictional adventure but are full of grind gameplay.
