"Firm but friendly" is a standard moto for lawyers when negotiating/talking is what I've been told.
The problem is that Engineers aren't taught this, whereas lawyers have (like rules of engagement).
- barrow-rider 8y agoSomething like "start soft and grow loud slowly, cuz if you start loud you can't tone it down later without looking weak or overplayed" is what my ex (a lawyer) used to say.
