Does anyone know anything about Startpage? All I see is a website with the text of a good privacy policy. But who the heck are they? Why should I trust them? Compare that with DuckDuckGo, whose leadership, support, and activities are widely known and who I know are more committed and competent than some random person who typed up a privacy policy. I don't mean to raise doubts about Startpage - I'd love to know more about them so I could have more confidence in them and have another alternative. Also, I find that non-technical users seem to stick with it more than with DDG, when I introduce them to it.
