It's interesting because I know a couple of authors of big open source projects who have anger issues and who also profess to have little empathy for others. I struggle to understand how it's possible for someone who works for free for the benefit of others to also lack empathy; isn't that a contradiction? That said, I did experience extreme career-damaging betrayal from an open source author who had a similar attitude as described in the article. Some people are just living paradoxes.
