Aside from Google v. Oracle I'd say Oracle has actually been a fantastic stweard to Java (much to everyone's surprise).
This a fairly huge deal because this was the defacto way to check that any given compilation of OpenJDK or variant meets the spec.
You used to have to talk to Oracle and get their pass/fail to prove your binaries we're legit.
