Ask HN: Is traditional soft. development more satysfying than machine learning?
I am considering my career right now, I am at uni. It feels like machine learning is less "funny" to do, than tradititional programming, where you can play a lot with how you structure your code. Machine learning seems like a lot of redoing the same thing with different parameters till you get something right.
Machine learning is probably connected with more interesting problems - for example gesture recognition for smart mirrors, and in traditional dev you would probably do more boring stuff like APIs and not do anything that innovative. But is it worth it?
Anyone that transitioned from traditional software development to machine learning, do you find your job more fulfilling now?
(Sorry for bad english)
