Great post, good points (had a good laugh about the loop and arithmetic assumption ;-)) and I mostly agree - although probably 1/3 of [academic/scientific] programmers [at least] really can't program (although that is much less than what got you about to post). [see Nature Oct 14, 2010] However, that is definitely less than the "majority".
