Twitter is adding value to companies for marketing purposes. What about the old spice stuff? Or various companies reaching out to users when they complain about a product on twitter? It's far easier for companies to do this via Twitter than Facebook. Maybe the value added in that case is harder for people to measure, so it's being forgotten.
