"Seventy-two new “fast radio bursts” from a mysteriously noisy galaxy 3 billion miles away"
Wait, what? I thought space is big. Really big. This mysterious distant galaxy is practically in our backyard.
- admax88q 8y agoShould be 3 billion light years according to other articles.
- fhood 8y agoNot just practically, I would say 3 billion miles away puts it firmly on top of us.
- emiliobumachar 8y agoAbout as close as Pluto. No wonder it can't be a planet.
- microtherion 8y agoMessage probably says: "Get us in touch with your Plutocrats".
- wu-ikkyu 8y agoOur plutocrats don't take kindly to illegal alien aliens.
- Sharlin 8y agoThree billion miles is roughly the distance to Neptune. So, yeah.
- owenversteeg 8y agoFor reference, that's closer than Pluto is (normally) to the Earth. Other sources all say "3 billion light years", which seems more accurate and believable.
