48 hours to build 300 web apps. Rails Rumble Starts
- ericb 16y agoI wish I had time to participate! Have any viable businesses came out of previous rumbles?
- imbriaco 16y agoOff the top of my head, Zencoder was originally built during a Rails Rumble. I know there are others as well, but that one sprang to mind.
- larrywright 16y agoYubnub.com came out of one of the first Rails days. It's still around, but I have no idea whether it's a profitable or not.
- rabble 16y agoI'm not sure the idea is to build a viable business. Rather to build out an application, and practice creating. We did the original rails day, the precursor to rails rumble, at Odeo. Then a while later we got the idea of doing that within the whole company, during the day. That lead to a series of hackdays, which created twitter. Seems like, despite it's detractors, to have evolved in to a viable business.
- cglee 16y agoWe built the initial version of Active Interview during last year's rails rumble.
- kellishaver 16y agoThis is my first year not participating in Rails Rumble-just too busy with real life and family. I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with this year.
