- oh_hello 8y agoThis strategy makes perfect sense, but does come with a psychological component that is difficult to overcome. When you but the 7 or 8 there is a sense you are buying an out of date product as opposed to a new, lower-end product. I'm sure managing the products this way saves a fortune because they are always only working to engineer the latest products and coasting on previous years' work for the cheaper models.
