Have been using Lua 5.3 and luajit for a few years. Also have bought the lua book for 5.3. My thoughts:
-- really sweet consistent and simple language
-- weak, fragmented ecosystem
-- easily embeddable yet powerful
-- few bad decisions: arrays as tables, coercions, 1-based arrays, no gradual typing
- stcredzero 8y agoGradual typing can be very useful. Coercions, like any implicit casting/conversion can have problems. 1 based arrays are a pain. On this much, I'd agree. Why are arrays as tables a problem? Is it a matter of efficiency, or is it a type safety issue?
