I have wanted to figure out for ages how to compute the location of these types of flags/vars in binary files. Incidentally I want to figure out how to do this

I have wanted to figure out for ages how to compute the location of these types of flags/vars in binary files. Incidentally I want to figure out how to do this on Linux. I presume I need debug symbol files, which I can download easily. How would I do this?
