Do You Trust Australia?
- perilunar 8y agoOh the irony. The Minister for Home Affairs is probably one of the most hated and least trusted politicians in Australia, especially after the events of the last 2 weeks. Perhaps the most dangerous threat is less direct - a collapse or a loss of trust. Trust in our institutions, in key organisations, in our values and culture, and trust in all arms of government and politicians. ... A loss of trust, whether orchestrated or otherwise, has the potential to undermine the foundations of our modern world. The solution to that is not to enact oppressive legislation, but to stop being such completely shameless fascists. But in general, yes I trust Australia. Not the government, not the politicians, but the people. Much less likely to shoot you (especially the police) or let you die, than many other countries.
