Tell HN: We need Thunderbird for iOS / Android

We are in a sad, where the two most popular OSes in the world don't have a single vendor-independent up-to-date open-source email client, backed by an organization with high software engineering standards. You can choose not to use Gmail, but you will still have to use the closed-source Gmail app to access your custom IMAP / SMTP servers, without the existence of any highly secure open-source alternative.
