We are offered some time for life events, including moving, death of a family member, etc. Also, a part of the benefits package (in Germany) is a company that helps source elder Care. Iirc it's partially funded, too (but don't quote me on that). When you're negotiating your job, ask the recruiter about the HR concept. Some companies, like MS, really try to take care of employees and gear packages for the long term. Others focus on lifestyle, or on cash compensation... The benefits package is one of the more important ways a company should align with your needs.
