Is it just me who is continuously amazed at how stupid the whole security circus has become? You're a lot more likely to get hit by lightning than be the victim of a terrorist attack, and yet we spend probably trillions on manpower, technology and lost productivity, forcing high achievers like Daniel (and everybody else) to spend way too much of their lives jumping through bureaucratic hoops and wait in security checkpoint queues. Not to mention the loss of liberty and privacy due to excessive monitoring and overly restrictive policies for movement. It makes me sad. Maybe it's a sign of increased prosperity - we need something to worry about, and many people today have few threats to their existence to worry about.
