- erikb 8y agoThis is not a top-down problem, but a bottom-up problem. People want to feel meaningful, so they make up stories of why their job is important, why this or that task needs to get done right now, etc. The only things that are really urgent is when you are a focus point of a political game between two managers. Then you really need to struggle, work overtime, etc. Otherwise usually nobody cares about your existence and you can do whatever you want, as long as you do it in the office building.
- jgtrosh 8y agoIsn't copying content from the article just a bullshit comment??? Joking aside, your comment made me read the article. I agree with it almost entirely, except I don't believe there needs to be a conscious decision to invent bullshit jobs for them to appear everywhere. I believe people are capable of hiring other people for bullshit jobs and not questioning why they do it without some kind of conspiracy.
- 0ld 8y agoThanks, I was reluctant to read the article which censored word "shit"
