Joel is definitely not alone, I agree wholeheartedly with everything mentioned in the slides. I'd like to highlight that Notebooks do have use in pre-production while your are exploring data subset and trying out your initial hypothesis. But please, don't throw away decades of software development best practices and reliability for mere development convenience.
