Google has effectively mandated everyone implement force-push software updating for all software everywhere, under their 7-day "this is a nice piece of software you've got here, I'd hate to see something bad happen to it" disclosure policy. Google is throwing their weight around to dictate their philosophy on software to the entire industry. It's just good for us that it's debatable whether this particular edict is in everyone's interest, not just google's. Not all that reassuring about Alphabet in general, tho.
