- ghaff 8y agoWhen it became clear around that time that processor frequency was tapped out and that multi-core was the future there was a lot of hand-wringing around parallel programing. There weren't the tools. There weren't the skills. Etc. For a variety of reasons, the issues turned out to be less than feared overall. But you were still getting more transistors at the time. You just had to use them in different ways.
