- OriginalPenguin 8y agoThe desktop version is free and open source. You'll want to start with the desktop version anyway, because it's easier to make your cards on a computer than a phone. After a while you'll know if it's for you or not. Then you can buy the iOS version. The Android version is made by a different set of people, and it's completely free as well. It's called AnkiDroid.
