Can always go the `gofmt` route and provide something in the language tooling and take this choice somewhat out of the developer's hands.

- zokier 8y agoI would go further than that and only allow single formatting style in the language at all. Make inconsistent/non-standard formatting a syntax error.
- greglindahl 8y agoI love that concept, but it turns out to be kinda difficult in many languages that weren't designed around the concept. Here's Black for python: https://github.com/ambv/black https://github.com/ambv/black I'm not sure if my future co-workers would kill me or not for using it on projects.
- drunkpotato 8y agoI love black. I hooked up blacken-mode for Emacs and never looked back. The best choice is not having to decide at all!
