Here's a screen grab.

Just a reminder, to bypass the pay wall just do a search for the title and then click on it. WSJ lets you read articles if your referral URL is DuckDuckGo or Google or whatever.

- dmix 8y agoJust click the "Web" link on HN which brings you to the search results...
- GW150914 8y agoThe first three results don’t work, so maybe that’s not too useful.
- paulcole 8y agoYou can also bypass the WSJ paywall by allowing them to charge a few dollars to your credit card every month. One of the most clever and effective hacks I’ve found.
- joejerryronnie 8y agoBrilliant!
- dbg31415 8y agoSo, we should limit discussions on HN to people with WSJ subscriptions? I feel like anything posted here shouldn't be behind a pay wall. Especially such an easy to bypass pay wall. Kind of tempted to write a plugin that would change the referral URL from Hacker News to make it look like a Google Search just to get around this stuff once... I don't object to WSJ charging money, I just object to the way they give the article away if you Google it and try and charge for it if yo don't. It's silly.
- tomhoward 8y agoThe Google search workaround doesn't seem to work for WSJ anymore. Clicking through from Facebook seems to work. More reliably/simply, and for people not using Facebook, Archive.is and Archive.org always seem to work. Archive.is is my go-to and it works every time.
