Ask HN: Good alternatives to OneNote?
I'm currently a university student and for the past year I've been using a Markdown editor (Typora) for taking notes after switching from LibreOffice because it's faster to do so. For my classes I normally take notes on my readings/research to prepare and, ideally, I would like to expand on/correct these notes in the class discussion (assuming it's a seminar/tutorial, not a lecture). On paper or in OneNote you can do that e.g. by having two "columns" and multiple colors to connect my reaidng notes with my seminar notes. Generally, having such an open canvas is super useful. However, I am not the biggest fan of using proprietary software, having everything in the "cloud" and not stored where I want it and, more importantly, a proprietary format. So, I would like to hear what other note-taking applications you can recommend
