On one hand, it’s nice that tech qualifications can be somewhat objectively verified through standardized tests, etc. But I agree the industry seems to rely on these too much, most likely due to insecurities of hiring managers. If you’re hiring experienced top talent, a phone call and glance at their resume should be enough to verify their qualifications.
