How do you keep the system secure without Windows Update enabled?
- wtallis 8y agoAll of the Windows machines that I use for work are firewalled and have no internet access, primarily so that they won't interrupt my work with fucking updates, but security is a nice side effect. My personal Windows machine has updates enabled because I don't mind if it reboots when my back is turned, and my Linux and OS X machines can be trusted to ask before rebooting to apply updates. Microsoft has provided no real alternatives for those of us who need to be able to keep a Windows machine running overnight.
