I found that the Coke-alike syrup could taste a lot like Coke, but you had to add a little less than half the amount of syrup they recommend. I eventually dropped it, though, because the CO2 canisters were too expensive and didn't want the hassle of modding it to use a rechargeable CO2 system (and the subsequent years of being tied to it to get back to a neutral return-on-investment versus just buying Coke).
