  It was definitely a success story. The company, their customers, and my company all benefited. It wasn't all rainbows (the story is a bit longer and more complicated), but it worked out well for everyone in the end.

  If a consultant could jet in, diagnose and fix up some issues in a couple of days, that means the team did a pretty awesome job to begin with. A truly inexperienced team would have created a spaghetti monstrosity that was practically unsalvageable.
