Idea: Stick a heavy load onto a rotating screw. Actively power it to rotate, moving the weight up; let the weight drop forcing the screw to rotate on the way down. Sounds pretty simple, I guess a lot of energy would be lost to friction.. teflon? Bearings?
- CydeWeys 8y agoSounds less efficient than just using a high efficiency electric motor to power a crane as in this proposal.
