Quick question: how does the electricity get from the train (in motion) to the grid? Using the rails as conductors could work, but I'm not sure how efficient that would be.

- ebikelaw 8y agoThird-rail electric distribution is an established technology.
- tgsovlerkhgsel 8y agoOne way would be using a funicular: The "train" is just the weight, pulled up/lowered on a cable that's connected to a motor-generator at the top. Would also make it cheaper to build extra wagons, with a storage yard at the top and bottom.
