I don't think you should have been downvoted for this comment. People are taking this as criticism of the son when that's not necessarily the case. No one wants to end up in an old folks home.
- icebraining 8y agoThe stereotype of a retirement home as necessarily "confinement" is wrong; e.g. my aunt lives in one, and she goes out most days to meet her friends at the plaza or coffeeshop. And for people without mobility, they are confined in any case. Personally, after having seen quite a few for family reasons, there are a few I wouldn't mind living in.
