Huge. I went private for my medical school education and came out of it with about $190K in debt. Fortunately I didn't have any undergrad debt. But I liked family practice, and I like public health, and I'm proud to work in those fields. I definitely understand the push to go to higher-paid specialties with a burden like that, though.
