- jdub 16y agoThe correct way to upgrade Ubuntu from the command line is "do-release-upgrade" (which includes extra upgrading smarts that apt alone does not).
- TorKlingberg 16y agoWhy doesn't the apt-get man page mention this? It is getting rather difficult keeping track of what the current recommended way is.

- thristian 16y agoWe're talking about upgrading from the 10.10 release candidate to 10.10 final, right? That shouldn't require "do-release-upgrade", surely.
- SkyMarshal 16y agoYes, avoid dist-upgrade, it apparently can break dependencies. Upgrade to a major version with %> sudo apt-get update && sudo do-release-upgrade
