- Loic 8y agoNote that it is because Germany has the highest percent of part-time jobs, especially poor jobs or the mother in a family. The system is built in a way that it is hard to have two real full-time jobs in a family. It works pretty well in the former East Germany but in the former West, the standard is that after 4PM schools etc. are closed. This has improved in the last years, but not to the point to easily have two full time jobs. This my experience from living 5 years in the former East and afterwards moving to the West (already 7 years).
